This section has information on the regulatory history of approved drugs. Most newer drugs contain documents that summarize the FDA’s reviews of new drug applications (NDAs). This information is not available elsewhere and contains information from unpublished studies by the manufacturer. Often links to the package insert are available. PubChem mostly contains small molecules, but also larger molecules such as nucleotides, carbohydrates, lipids, peptides, and chemically-modified macromolecules. Information is collected on chemical structures, identifiers, chemical and physical properties, biological activities, patents, health, safety, toxicity data, and many others. Since its launch in 2004, PubChem has become a key chemical information resource for scientists, students, and the general public.

This is a great place to start looking for information about your drug product’s active ingredients, formulation, and excipients because it covers the chemical literature and patent literature.
