Connecting to Library Resources

On Campus:

Before you can get into UCSD's licensed resources like databases and electronic journals and books, you have to connect the Protected Network on your laptop.  (Guest wireless will not allow you access to our licensed resources.)

If you need details on this, see the Campus IT Wireless page.

If you cannot get to something that you think you should be able to access, check to see if you that you are connected to the UCSD-Protected Network.  If you are and still have problem, use our Ask us service for assistance - self help, virtual, or in-person.

Off Campus:

You must use the Cisco Anyconnect VPN to get into UCSD's licensed resources when off campus.  Be sure when logging in to set the Group Code to "2-step Secured allthruucsd."

For details on how to set up the VPN, see the Library's webpage.

If you cannot get to something that you think you should be able to access, check the Group Code (you need to log out of the VPN & then back in to see this setting) and be sure to pick "2-step Secured allthruucsd."  This resolves most situations, but Ask Us if you need more troubleshooting -  self help, virtual, or in-person.
