The Cambridge World History of Human Disease
Combines recent medical discoveries with historical and geographical scholarship to provide a comprehensive history of human disease. Explores the patterns of disease throughout the world as well as the variety of approaches that different medical traditions have used to fight it. Traces the concept of disease as medicine developed from an art to a science, then addresses the history of disease in each major world region. Includes the history and geography of each significant human disease, both historical and contemporary, from AIDS to yellow fever.

Search by subject or browse full text of more than 2000 titles, predominantly scholarly journals in social sciences, humanities, and sciences, to their earliest issues. Many titles extend as far back as late 19th or early 20th centuries; most recent 3-5 years often not included.

Covers over 5,700 journals in the biomedical and health sciences and years covered late 1940's - present, with additional older medical literature selectively added.
