NIH Brain Initiative
Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies® (BRAIN). An NIH initiative for collaboration across institutions in neurotechnology. Includes funding sources and research tools.

NIH Neurobiobank
NIH national resource of tissue an pkrotocols for investigators utilizing human post-mortem brain tissue and related biospecimens for their research to understand conditions of the nervous system.

Cold Spring Harbor Protocols
Cold Spring Harbor Protocols is an interdisciplinary journal providing a definitive source of research methods in cell, developmental and molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics, protein science, computational biology, immunology, neuroscience and imaging. Each monthly issue details multiple essential methods—a mix of cutting-edge and well-established techniques. All protocols are up-to-date and presented in a consistent, easy-to-follow format.

The Whole Brain Atlas
Harvard's databank of neuro-imaging in normal, degenerative, infectious, and stroke brains.

The Allen Brain Atlas
The Allen Institute's genome-wide image database of gene expression. Information and data are publicly available for research purposes. Please cite the source.

Brain Info
Searchable atlas of brain structures and a portal to neuroanatomical information on the Web.

The Mouse Brain Library
High-resolution images and databases of brains from many genetically characterized strains of mice.  MBL mission is to systematically map and characterize genes that modulate architecture of the mammalian central nervous system.
