A Data-Based Assessment of Research-Doctorate Programs in the United States
A data driven analysis prepared by the National Research Council (US) Committee on an Assessment of Reserch Doctorate Programs (CWCU). Done approximately every decade the last edition was completed in 2006 and released in 2010/11 by the National Academies Press.

Customized rankings of graduate programs based on National Research Council data. This site was began at Dartmouth University, but is now edited privately with reader input.
America's Best Graduate Schools (U.S. News & World Report)
This abbreviated online version of Best Graduate Schools covers graduate programs in business, education, engineering, law, medicine, and other disciplines. U.S. News & World Report is a private company that ranks institutions of higher learning.

University and College Rankings

Universities and colleges are ranked by several differents sources that use varying methodolgies. Some of these rankings are controversial because of the weight given to data that may not truly represent academic quality. Researchers should examine each source's methodolgy carefully, and use multiple methods in determining academic value.

This is the online version of the published guide. U.S. News & World Report is a private company that ranks institutions of higher learning.

International Landscape & Comparisons

Times Higher Education Rankings(World Education) 2018
A global benchmark, known as the World Education Rankings calculated by the British press reflecting current research and teaching environments. Special attention is paid to international collaboration, citations of campus research by other scientists and the degree to which research has spawned technical innovation.
Shanghai Ranking of World Universities, 2017
This online guide is prepared by the Center for World-Class Universities of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
QS World University Rankings
Originally working in conjunction with Times Higher Education, QS ranks 700 universities.
Leiden Rankings
The CWTS Leiden Ranking 2017 measures the scientific performance of 500 major universities woldwide using a sophisticated set of bibliometric indicators, the ranking aims to provide highly accurate measurements of the scientific impact of universities and of universities' involvement in scientific collaboration.
