The largest database covering the literature of the biological sciences. Covers journals as well as (selectively) books, conferences and patents. 1926 to present.
Database covering research in the engineering fields. Use this for mechanical, materials or bioengineering research, but not for medical subjects.

Indexes 6,000 key science journals--an excellent place to start looking for articles across a wide variety of science disciplines.
