Latin American Studies Research Guide: Cinema

An introductory guide to doing research in Latin American studies in the UCSD Library

LATIN AMERICAN AND SPANISH STUDIES FILMS AT UCSD

UCSD Libraries owns a fairly strong collection of Latin American and Spanish feature films and documentaries.   You can search most films by title, director, and principal actors in ROGER.   To find feature films from or about a country, use the Form/genre search  and look under "Feature films--[Country Name]"

example:  Feature films--Mexico

Documentary films are found under the Form/genre search:   Documentary films--Brazil

Most of these can be requested at the Media Desk on the ground floor of Geisel Library where you will also find viewing stations. UCSD students, faculty, and staff can check them out for limited time periods.

New films are continuously being added to the collection.   Click here to execute a search in ROGER that will show you the most recent films in the Spanish language.
