How do I get the article?

In most of our databases, you'll see this button next to each reference:

UC-eLinks

Clicking this button may open up the article automatically, or you will see options to get the article:

- Online, if available)
- In print (links to Roger)
- Via interlibrary loan (Request) if we don't have the article.

SciFinder has its own Get Full-Text link that will bring up the UC-eLinks menu.

WEB OF SCIENCE

WEB OF SCIENCE indexes over 6,000 journals in science and engineering, and is the best place to start a search a literature search for your UCSD faculty author.

  • You will not find the articles, but rather information about the articles: authors, titles, citations (name of journal, volume/issue, date, pages), an abstract--summary of the article, a list of the papers your the author(s) cited, and papers that cite your paper. Use UC-eLinks to locate the article. 

  • Author searches should be entered like this: 
    • Cohen SM  [if you know the author's middle initial]
    • Cohen S*   [if you don't know the author's middle initial]
    • You can also combine the search:  Cohen SM OR Cohen S*

  • You can also limit by ADDRESS to eliminate papers by authors with the same name:
    • univ SAME jolla
