Searching for Chemistry Books

If you don't have an author or title, start with the keyword search.

Searching nmr polymers is the same as nmr and polymers, and will retrieve only records with both terms.

Searching nmr or polymers will retrieve with at least one term, giving you a larger set of results.

Use * at the end of a word to search for variant endings. For example, spectr* will search spectra, spectroscopy, spectrometry, spectroscopic...

Note the book's location and availablity. If it's checked out, use Request to have the book recalled, or search Circuit or Melvyl to request from another library.

If you see >> Go to electronic version in the record, that means we have this as an ebook.

Key Chemistry E-Book Collections at UCSD

Key UCSD ebook collections with chemistry and biochemistry titles. You can search for titles in UC Library Search or at the publisher websites. title/full-text at the publisher websites.

  • If you search at the publisher websites, expect large sets of search results, due to the full-text book searching (and journals if applicable). Searches have to be more specific.
  • Unless otherwise specified, we don't have access to all ebooks from a particular publisher. Check the catalog for a print copy, or request via Interlibrary Loan.
