Search for Books in the Library

Roger is the UC San Diego Library catalog that helps you locate print and electronic books on campus.

Keyword searching is a great way to begin looking for books on a new topic. When you find a title that look promising, check the book's catalog record to see the assigned subject headings; these might point to other books you can use.

To locate a print book, note the location, call number, and availability to make sure it's not checked out. If the book is checked out, you submit a request to have the book recalled or check for a copy in one of the catalogs below. The ebooks will have links in the record to get you to the book online. To access these off campus, you'll need to use VPN.

Search/Request Books Outside UCSD

If our copy is checked out, you can use the Circuit and Melvyl catalogs to see if there's an available copy to request. In the Roger record, you'll see these options over to the right. You can also search the two catalogs to look for books that we may not have.
