There are various ways to approach the use of the Japan Studies Collection and its adjunct electronic resources. This guide gives a brief "primer" on some of those resources and information to help start your search. 

 

This guide is a collection of the UCSD libraries and open access resouces on Japan related topics.  The blue lock images seen next to resource titles indicate our library subscription titles.  You can access to these titiels on campus.  However, you need to configure your computer browser when you access to these titles from remote locations.

JapanKnowledge+ contains more than 40 different reference works ( encyclopedias, language and subject dictionaries).  It is a good place to visit when you start researching on your topics to gather basic background information and related reading materials.
