Healthy Eating @ UCSD Dining

This blog is geared towards students who eat in Dining Services restaurants and markets at UC San Diego. Dining's registered dietitian (RD), eats at campus dining halls ~10 times a week.  She posts pictures and menu ideas to inspire others to make healthy food choices.

SSHL Exhibit

But what do we eat? Where does it come from? How do we prepare it?  FOOD FOR THOUGHT, the Social Sciences & Humanities Library's latest exhibit, offers some answers to these questions.  The exhibit explores the intersections surrounding food and health, gardening, farming, politics, sustainability and more.  Visit the exhibit to learn interesting food facts, explore kitchen curiosities, watch videos on related topics, and learn about the history and future of urban farms.

One goal of the Food for Thought display is to help make the UC San Diego Library community aware of the resources that are available on these topics.  This guide highlights books, journals, and videos from our collections.

The exhibit is located in the Social Sciences & Humanities Library's Reference Area (enter the Geisel Library building, go all the way to your left).  We hope the display catches your eye, whets your appetite, and sparks your imagination. Bon appétit!

  • Health and Wellness Lecture Series 2010
    The UCSD Accommodation Counseling and Consulting Services Health and Wellness lectures occur once a month, from noon – 1 p.m. All lectures are free and wheelchair accessible. Register online or contact Alane Reardon, (858) 534-6744, to attend.
  • Healthy Eating Program Cooking Classes
    These classes are now being offered several times each month at the Healing Foods Kitchen of the Moores UCSD Cancer Center. Class themes and recipes change monthly.

    Learn about courses & internships, get ideas on how to save energy, and explore innovative research happening at UCSD.
