For most of UCSD's online resources, you must be authenticated as a UCSD student to access them from off campus. There are two ways to do this. Directions for both are at this link.

1. Proxy Server. An easier setup, and the way we usually recommend. This may not work with some institutional firewalls.

2. VPN. Setup is more complicated, but it is the only way to access Scifinder & Beilstein/Gmelin (chemistry databases). VPN must be set up in "all through UCSD" mode.
