Encyclopedias / Getting Started

To get started in the MMW 4T era (ancient world - 1750AD) use the High Use Table (HUT) in SSH Reference, or CLICS Reference.  A complete list of books currently on the High Use Table is available.  For online reference sources try:

Encyclopedia of Islam/Encyclopedia of the Qur'an/Encyclopedia of Women & Islamic Cultures

Greenwood Daily Life Online (daily life from pre-history to the present)

Online Reference Book for Medieval Studies (ORB)

Search thousands of reference books online to look for particular articles via Reference Universe, then check Roger to see if UCSD owns that book.

    Drop-in MMW4T workshops

    • Monday, October 5: 2PM
    • Tuesday, October 6: 3PM or 4PM
    • Wednesday, October 7: 4PM
    • Thursday, October 8: 5PM
    • Friday, October 9: 3PM
