Grey Literature

Grey literature is that body of material that is normally published by research organizations, non-governmental bodies, grass roots movements, think tanks, etc. that fall outside the realm of major commercial or academic publishers.  Below are several open access and subscription-based databases that provide access to grey literature on Latin American subjects.

Latin American Open Archives Portal (LAOP)  

Provides access to social sciences grey literature produced in Latin America by research institutes, nongovernmental organizations, and peripheral agencies.

Red de Bibliotecas Virtuales de Ciencias Sociales (CLACSO) 

Portal to online articles, working papers, presentations, theses, books and book chapters from CLACSO research centers across Latin America.

BASE 

The Bielefeld Academic Search Engine (BASE) indexes academic open access web resources.

CIAO: Columbia International Affairs Online

Full text working papers, conference proceedings, policy briefs, economic indicators, and other resources in international affairs.
