Get it at UC

Use "Get it at UC" and the Citation tool that is part of UC Library Search.

From Databases and Google Scholar

Databases and Google Scholar have a tool you can use look for a link or button with Cite

Citation Tools - ZoteroBib & Others

Use one of these tools to create a citation from a DOI, URL, ISBN, or other unique identifier. See list of options below.

Citation Generators

If you don't have a lot of citations to deal with, a citation management tool might not be necessary. These tools let you generate formatted citations if you forgot to grab them during your search.

If you have a DOI or URL for what you want to cite, use these:

ZoteroBib
From our friends at Zotero - a tool for the quick generation of a citation using a URL, DOI, ISBN, arXiv ID, PMID, or just the item's title.
Type Cite
A newer tool specifically for APA, MLA, & Harvard citation styles. In addition to creating citations for books or journals, it also have a section explaining the requirements for the citation style.

These tools let you type in all the needed components and then generate a formatted citation. Use these if you don't have a DOI or URL to go from.

KnightCite
A free tool from Calvin College's Hekman Library. Choose from MLA, APA, & Chicago citation styles.

Click on the Resource Type then enter the information in the form. Not as automated as EasyBib, but a clear and easy form to use.
Citation Builder
Another library created tool - this time from NC State University Libraries. It has is the most simplified of the tools - choose the type of resource you have, fill out the information, and then select either APA or MLA citation style. Click Submit. It is ready to copy & paste.
Word
The ability to create formatted citations is built into Word, so you can use it while you are writing. The advantage is the additional style types, particularly Engineering types. You will also be able to reuse citations, but you do have to type in the information.
