UCSD’s Global Health Program (GHP) is an interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate degree program bringing together partners from UCSD’s School of Medicine, Rady School of management, Biological Sciences, Department of Anthropology, and the UCSD Global Health Institute. The program offers the following degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in Global Health (BA), a Bachelor of Science in Global Health (BS) a Global Health Minor, and a Master of Arts in Global Health (MA). The program website explains that this program “provide[s] students with an in‐depth understanding of factors related to illness, health, and healing from a comparative and interdisciplinary perspective that transcends national borders and regional interests and takes cultural difference and diversity fully into account.” GHP courses and research examine health care, health education, environmental effects on health, infections disease, reproductive health, mental health, health inequalities, medical and health issues related to natural disaster and political violence, and indigenous healing practices.
