Although access to some content has been discontinued, the UC San Diego Library is committed to minimizing the impact to our patrons. Here are some other ways to access the materials you need:
Check to see if the article is available from another source:
- UC-eLinks - Request items not available in the Library. Use this form to see if an alternative source or database has the article immediately online.
- Google Scholar, Open Access Button or Unpaywall - Sites provide links to free, open access versions of articles if available.
- PubMed Central - Free archive of over 5 million biomedical and life science journal articles in full-text.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL), if the article you need is not available from above resources.
- Request Form - UC San Diego Library staff will obtain items submitted through the form. Requests for Elsevier titles will go through expedited processing.
As a reminder, UC will continue to have access on ScienceDirect to all articles with a publish date before 2019 for which our prior subscription included perpetual rights.
