CGS 190: Critical Gender Studies Honors Undergraduate Research: Ebooks

Search for e-Books in the Library

Roger is the UC San Diego Library catalog that helps you locate electronic books the university has access to.  The catalog also contains print books, periodicals, film, music, maps and all other materials collected by the library. Please note: The UCSD library buildings have been closed due to COVID-19, so print materials aren't currently accessible to students.

Search the Catalog

The Roger catalog default search is a basic keyword search, which is great when you are starting out your search for books on a new topic. You may also search by Title, Author, and General Subjects. If you are interested in e-Books, select the Electronic Materials format above the search bar.

Watch the Catalog Tutorial.

Accessing Ebooks

You will likely run across electronic resources in your search for books. In order to view these from off campus, you will need to connect to the VPN or proxy server.

You can access the ebook from the search results page as seen below.

If you open a catalog record from the search results screen, you will find the link to the ebook in the green, "Get it Online" box.
