UC Library Search - search all of the UC's library collections
UC Library Search allows you to search all of the University of California's library collections. It includes scholarly and peer-reviewed journals and articles, books and ebooks, course reserves, special formats (media, maps, newspapers, dissertations, etc.), government documents and datasets and primary resources, archives, and special collections. Try this first, especially if you are looking for scholarly articles or books.
Subject Searching: Try using the Library of Congress Subject Headings, the terms used by most U.S. academic libraries to describe the main subjects of books. Subject searching on natural words and phrases may give lower or zero results if not the "official" terminology.
When you discover useful resources from a keyword search: A glance at actual subject headings in the catalog record for books use gives suggestions of both the "official" subject term and new directions to try.
