News sources are another way to stay current, from sites that cover all news like Google News, New York Times, The Guardian, and NPR, to more science magazines and specialized trade publications. Often, the STEM news item focuses on one or more recent studies published in the journal literature or presented at a professional conference. For example, The Guardian's Biochar from human waste could solve global fertiliser shortages, study finds reports on a recently published PNAS article, while this C&EN Global Enterprise feature on cut-and-paste chemistry cites multiple articles published in the last few years.
