ANTH 281a: Graduate Library Orientation: Reviews of Current Research

Reviews of Research

Reviews of research are essays which summarize what has been  published about a given topic in recent years. The most important source for such reviews in anthropology is the Annual Review of Anthropology.  The titles below which begin with the word "companion" often contain useful overviews of research.

Find Reviews of Research

Many databases will allow you to limit your search by publication type, letting you select only reviews.  Look at the search options to figure out how to do this for any particular database.

Web of Science -- add search field for "Document Type" and select "Review"

Anthropology Plus -- no limit by this publication type, but try adding "Review" as a keyword.
