1) The library's Get Started with Research guide offers some great help, including a short video tutorial on how to search the library catalog, search strategies for finding relevant journal articles, and how to get the full text of a journal article.
2) The library's Electronic Library Resources guide points to avenues for finding online books, journals, films and other materials. Many of these are resources that we always have, some are temporary access during the COVID closure.
3) You must be connected to the campus VPN to access the library's online resources from off-campus. Please see the Connect from Off-Campus instructions for more information. Be sure to select 2-Step Secured - Allthruucsd from the group drop-down menu while authenticating.
4) The library's COVID-19 response page has additional information about library services during Spring 2020.
This guide was created to help you find resources to research your assigned city.
If you need additional help with finding books, articles, or general library resources (Kelly) or with Storymaps/GIS (Amy), feel free to contact us directly using the information at right.
Another option is our 24/7 chat reference service. Be aware that a librarian from outside of UCSD may respond to your question at first; if they are unable to get you what you need, they'll refer you on to UCSD for follow-up.
