Citation Links within Search Interfaces

tip iconMany interfaces allow you to pull citation information directly from the search results. This is a great place to start, but check a style manual for accuracy. The citation you pull may not always be correct. 


Get it at UC

To get formatted citations from any database

  • click on the Get it at UC link Get it at UC logo
  • then click on the citation icon that is often depicted as quotation marks

Within Databases 

Many databases have a Cite link that will display an article's citation in one of many citation styles.  Look for it when viewing the details of an article. The icon is usually quotation marks.

While researchers often find that when they are doing extensive research or studying a topic for a length of time that a citation management tool is worth the investment in learning how to use the software.
