ArcGIS Online is an online, collaborative GIS that allows you to use, create, and share maps, scenes, apps, layers, analytics, and data. You get access to Living Atlas of the World, Business and Community Analyst apps, StoryMaps, Survey123, Esri's secure cloud, where you can add items and publish web layers and maps, and many other resources.

Campus ITS and the Library at UC San Diego have worked to enable Single Sign-On (SSO) for ArcGIS.com, which is licensed to affiliates of UC San Diego.

There are TWO ways to sign into the UC San Diego ArcGIS Online account. Both will work to setup an account and to log on in the future.

Creating Maps for your StoryMaps

Best practice is to create the maps you want to use for your StoryMaps ahead of time. Then you can pull in the final map into your StoryMap. You can also create the maps while building your StoryMap, but best practice, is to create them ahead of time using the ArcGIS Online environment.
