Connecting from Off-Campus

Remote Access to Library Resources

Most of our e-journals and databases are restricted so that only current UCSD faculty, staff, and students can use them from off-campus. In order to get access to these resources from an off-campus computer, you need to use the VPN.

VPN AnyClient is the preferred way to access the Library's resources from off campus. Please note that the web-based VPN EasyConnect does not work well with all databases.

How to Use This Guide

Welcome! This guide lists the major resources for researching Shakespeare. Because this is a broad topic, this guide is not exhaustive. I encourage you to email me or make an appointment with me if you need any help in finding what you need.

For even more resources, please see additional guides:

Staying Organized

Citation management software can help keep you organized during the research process. Quickly generate bibliographies, add keywords and notes to sources, and group sources into folders.

For an overview of different citation management software and options, see How to Cite -- Tools, Tips, and Tricks for Managing Citations.

If you anticipate working with a lot of images or archival documents, check out Tropy.

Browzine: Stay current with your favorite journals. Create a personal bookshelf to keep track of new issues.
