Workspace M&A Precedent Transactions

Refinitiv Workspace (RW) provides up to date M&A deal data. There are two major ways to locate it - via the Markets > Deals Markets activity section, or as part of an individual company report (Event > Company Deals).

If this is the first time you are using Refinitiv, be sure to use the one-time sign up link in order to gain access to this database.Ask for both the Refinitiv for Students and the AMR for Students add-on (AMR is the full market research add-on).

Mergerstat

For your class assignments, you likely will not need Mergerstat unless you are having unusual trouble using Refinitiv, or if you need more details on a specific deal..
Mergerstat is easier to access because it does not have the same browser limitations as Refinitiv Workspace has, however, Refinitiv gives a better visual and logical layout to the information.
Mergerstat is more like a news source for individual deals, and it does provide a wider range of historical details, starting from 1979 (select deals) / 1993 (full coverage).
