The State Bar cannot give you legal advice or refer you to an attorney. If you need to hire an attorney to handle your case or want to consult an attorney on a potential case, a certified lawyer referral service can put you in touch with a lawyer who can handle your problem. If your particular problem can be resolved without a lawyer, the referral service will tell you how to get the help you need.
The California Courts Online Self-Help Center is designed to help you find assistance and information, work better with an attorney, and represent yourself in some legal matters. Main topics include small claims, divorce, domestic violence, conservatorship, traffic, landlord/tenant law, and others.

California’s county law libraries have been providing the public with free access to legal resources since 1891. The San Diego Law Library links to many free resources online and licenses legal resources for use in their library facilities. They also provide the entire county with online access to Nolo Books Online.
