Unpaywall and Open Access Button are tools to help you locate open access copies of paywalled journal articles
Unpaywall is a Chrome/Firefox app that can help you find legal, open access copies of scholarly articles, that are freely available to anyone. When you're on a paywalled article, you'll see a lock icon over to the right of the article.
A open access copy of this article, either a preprint or version that's been accepted, is freely available on this site or elsewhere, like an institutional repository. Click the green lock to get the article. | |

Open Access Button is a website (plus browser extension) that looks for an OA copy of an article. If a copy cannot be located, you can enter your email address and a request to make the article available will be sent to the author.
