Dissertations and theses have become more freely available as many universities now release them as open by default.

• Please note that authors may still elect to limit access (embargo) their dissertations for one or more years, in which case nobody can access that dissertation until the end of that embargo period.

	The University of California institutional repository, with nearly 42,000 dissertations and theses,  including 10,000+ from UC San Diego. Please note that some dissertations from the last 1-2 years are embargoed.
	The Open Access Theses and Dissertations database (OATD) indexes 7+ million electronic theses and dissertations.
