Using and finding ebooks at UC San Diego

You can read thousands of ebooks in the sciences, engineering, social sciences, arts, and the humanities through the UC San Diego Library. Use this guide to learn more about our major collections, the best ways to search for ebooks, how to access on mobile devices, and how to save, copy, and print from ebooks.

To access ebooks from off campus, please use the AnyConnect VPN client. Download the software for your operating system (OS, Windows 10, etc), then login with your email username (without the @ucsd.edu) and password. Make sure the Group setting is on 2-Step Secured - althruucsd

When on the UC San Diego campus or in UCSD Healthcare settings, faculty/staff and students should use the UCSD Protected WiFi network,  not Guest WiFi, to access ebooks.

O'Reilly for Higher Education ebooks uses alternate authentication through Active Directory.
