Locating bulk chemical prices can be difficult, and there's a chance you won't find the price for the chemical you need (particularly anything recent). Some of these resources are priced for industries and are too expensive for most universities. Here's what we do have.
Various resources for locating economic information about chemicals, industries, and companies. Includes encyclopedias as well as full text databases for trade magazines, newspapes, industry and marketing reports, and data.
Weekly trade magazines for the chemical industry. Some of the pricing data may be available online, while some may only be found in the print magazine. Current issues of these magazines are on the 2nd floor of Geisel Library, west wing.
ICIS Chemical Business - Current Journals, TP1 .O25
Weekly sections: Market Trends & Data and Chemical Profiles. The Chemical Profiles (US, European, Worldwide) include uses, supply/demand, prices, technology, and outlook, and they are updated every few years. The Univ Texas Austin Chemistry Library keeps a list of the Chemical Profiles by date and compound. Formerly Chemical Market Reporter.

Weekly sections: CW Price Report (pricing for 20 commodities) and Product Focus. However, these sections are only in the print magazine.
Chemical Engineering - Current Journals, TN1 .C519
Monthly section: Economic Indicators. Includes Chemical Engineering Plant Cost Index, Current Business Indicators, Chemical Process Industry Output Index, and (through 2011) the Marshall & Swift Equipment Cost Index.

Professional magazine for the American Chemical Society, covering chemistry and chemical engineering in the news. Online via ACS.
