Chemistry & Biochemistry: ChemDraw (Revvity Signals) / MestReNova

Revvity Signals ChemDraw + Signals Notebook

UCSD faculty, students, and researchers in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry have access to Revvity Signals ChemDraw and (if needed) Signals Notebook. ChemDraw can be installed on your computer or accessed online via ChemDraw+,

Campus update on changes to ChemDraw Access, September 2024

To get access to Revvity Signals ChemDraw and Signals Notebook:

  1. Chemistry and Biochemistry students, faculty, and researchers must submit a software form request for access.
    1. The accounts may take up to 48 hours to be added to the UCSD portal.
    2. Instructors can submit an Excel file with their students (3 columns: first name, last name, email address) to get their class enrolled.
    3. Please note that Chemdraw is assumed to be the only requirement for classes unless Signals Notebook access is specifically requested.
  2. Users can then log in to UC San Diego Signals ChemDraw portal after being added to the license portal. This will give you access to the ChemDraw desktop installer, ChemDraw+, and Signals if you requested it.
    1. Users who used Signals Notebook before September 2024 must manually migrate their files. Refer to Signals Notebook migration

If you have ChemDraw/ChemOffice installed through the earlier PerkinElmer registration system, you may have access extended through March 2, 2025. However, to extend the access, at some point you'll need to deactivate the license and reactivate with your new Signals portal account.

Download and Access MestReNova

MNova 14.2.3 can be downloaded through the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The MNova or MestReNova Lite version that came with ChemDraw is no longer available.

  • Please follow the instructions carefully, including selecting the correct MNova version to download, and the steps to map the network drive to get the license files and registry key (VPN likely required for this step if off campus).
  • Once installed, if you go to Help, you can download some example datasets if you need them.
