Materials Science & Engineering: ChemDraw / ChemOffice / MNova Lite

ChemOffice, ChemDraw and MNova @ UC San Diego

UC San Diego has a campus-wide license for ChemOffice for Windows, ChemDraw for macOS, MNova Lite (aka MeRestNova Lite ChemDraw Edition), and Signals Notebook Individual Edition. It's funded by the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry and Campus IT Services. The Library doesn't support these products; this information is just to help you access these resources.

To launch a SciFinder-n or Reaxys search from within ChemDraw: select the structure in question, then select the SciFindern or Reaxys icon. VPN must be running for you to connect to these databases. To add these to your ChemDraw interface, go to Add-ins.

Download and Install ChemOffice (or ChemDraw) and MNova

Start at the Revvity Signals ChemDraw/ChemOffice Subscription Gallery and search for the University of California San Diego. You'll see 2 registration options. The first is for ChemDraw and MNova, and the second is for the cloud applications.

  • Sign up to create an account with Revvity Signals, or login if you already have an account. Use your ucsd.edu email address for the registration.
  • From the List Entitlements (or List Downloads if you're getting an error), you should get a link or list of available downloads.
    • From there, you'll get software downloads for ChemOffice Professional 22.2 for Windows, ChemDraw Professional for 22.2 for macOS, and MNova ChemDraw for Windows and macOS, along with the user guides.
  • If you need the activation code for ChemOffice/ChemDraw, refer to the List Entitlement page where you downloaded the software. If you don't receive an email from Mestrelab with your MNova license number, contact support@mestrelab.com with your UC San Diego email address.
  • Please contact maryam at ucsd dot edu if you have problems registering with PerkinElmer or downloading the software. Include something like Revvity Signals registration problem or ChemDraw software installation issue in the subject line.

To register for the cloud applications, enter your UCSD email. Then follow the instructions to access ChemOffice+ Cloud and/or Signals Notebook.

  • When connecting ChemOffice+ Cloud to Signals Notebook, you may need to update the URL in ChemOffice+ Cloud to match the current Signals Notebook URL.
