This is a general STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) guide with resources and strategies to help you get started with research in these disciplines. it's a good starting place for students in the Summer Research Program, Faculty Mentor Program and others that are part of the Undergraduate Research Hub, as well as the REUs (Research Experience for Undergraduates) and internships. We have more comprehensive subject research guides if you want to go beyond what is listed here.

Please consult our VPN/wifi page for instructions on accessing our licensed electronic resources on and off-campus. Students in some programs like non-concurrently enrolled extension courses may not be eligible to use VPN or the UCSD-Protected wifi network, but can still access most of these resources on the library computer workstations. We also have a guide that only includes free and open access STEM resources.
Please don't hesitate to contact me (or your subject librarian) if you have questions, need further research assistance, or want to set up an appointment to meet for a consultation.
